Our story
Cambio Handels AG was founded on August 28, 1987 by Robert Widmer, originally under the name Cambio Fleischwaren AG. From the beginning, the company's goal was to produce high-quality cooked sausages and export them internationally. The passion for quality and innovation laid the foundation for steady growth.
In 1992, the company name was changed to Cambio Handels AG. This renaming reflected the strategic change of the company, which from then on focused on importing meat products and potato specialties from Italy, Spain and Austria. This expansion of the product range enabled Cambio Handels AG to strengthen its market position and meet the needs of its customers.
In 2001, a tasting service was launched for customers. These service extensions enable the company to offer its customers high-quality solutions.
A significant milestone in the company's history was the takeover by Romana Betschart, Robert Widmer's daughter, together with her husband René Betschart, in 2018. Under her leadership, the company gained new momentum and continued its successful development. In addition to the import of meat products and potato specialties, the processing of raw materials for the food industry was introduced.
In 2021, Robert Widmer left the company and handed the business over to the next generation. These changes and the continuous adaptation to market trends demonstrate Cambio Handels AG's ability to assert itself in a dynamic business environment.
Today, Cambio Handels AG stands for quality, diversity and excellent service and is ready to tackle new challenges and grow in the future.

René Betschart

René has been working successfully in the company since 2016. No matter what challenge he faces: with his knowledge and the experience he gained from many years as a head chef and member of the management team, he creates a level of trust and finds a solution for everything.
With his creative side, he always successfully implements new ideas, to the delight of our customers.
